"Far and away the best prize that
life offers is the chance to work hard at work worth doing!"
President Theodore Roosevelt
Fiberglass door frames
and finger-jointed, primered, jambs all received this faux wood finish. First a thin coat of
Mahogany Gel Stain where applied and rubbed
thin with a rag to the door frames.
After drying, three coats of Olde Maple satin stain where applied,
dried and sanded between each coat, finally two coats of clear satin finish where
applied.
The primered door jambs where first
undercoated, thinly, with a fir colored flat latex
paint. Upon drying, three thin coats of Olde
Maple satin stain were applied, drying between coats. Care was taken to allow brush stokes to waver and
show in the first two coats to simulate wood grain, the thin coats retain some of the wood
texture as well.
